Bending Angle Measurement

IRIS Plus Angle Measurement System

The IRIS Plus angle measurement system is designed for high-accuracy CNC press brake applications where springback, material variation, and bending consistency must be controlled during production. The system uses a laser transmitter and receiver mounted on the upper beam of the press brake, with a high-speed digital camera and image processing unit built into the receiver.

During bending, IRIS Plus can measure the actual bending angle in real time and send live angle data to the CNC control. The controller can then correct the bending depth automatically, helping operators reduce trial bends, improve first-part accuracy, and maintain stable results on demanding parts.

  • Supports automatic angle measurement and real-time bending angle correction.
  • Works with different V-openings and die combinations, typically from 8 mm to 35 mm.
  • Suitable for high-precision workpieces, small-batch production, and parts with strict angle tolerance.
  • Contactless measurement helps avoid collision with the workpiece during bending.
  • Can measure selected workpieces with apertures or complex bending requirements.
  • Recommended for CNC press brakes used in precision sheet metal fabrication, cabinets, enclosures, and high-value parts.

LaserCheck Angle Measurement System

The LaserCheck / iMeasure laser angle measurement system is a fully automatic laser-assisted measuring solution for CNC press brakes. It is used to obtain an accurate bend angle after one bending operation, even when material thickness, tensile strength, rolling direction, or springback conditions vary from batch to batch.

The system projects a laser line onto the sheet surface and uses camera-based measurement to calculate the actual bending angle. The measured value is sent back to the CNC system so the press brake can correct the bending angle automatically. This makes LaserCheck suitable for precision parts, expensive materials, and production environments where test bending should be reduced.

  • Laser-assisted angle measurement with accuracy better than 0.1° under suitable conditions.
  • Measures the actual bend angle independently of material type and thickness variation.
  • Supports springback compensation and automatic correction through the CNC control.
  • Suitable for CNC press brakes requiring first-part accuracy and reduced scrap.
  • Contactless measurement principle helps maintain reliability in industrial bending environments.
  • Recommended for high-precision bending, stainless steel parts, aluminum parts, and batch production with strict tolerances.
